Laser fill on all of the engraving, laser cut on everything else. Couldn’t have been easier.

On a side note, my first living hinge turned out pretty well. Some tweaks I can make to do it better next time but most of that is in the post processing (sanding and assembly) and not in the cutting.

The interior is engraved because I did the engraving on the wrong part the first time and didn’t have enough of this ply on hand to remake it in time for valentines for my wife.

On the next one I’ll probably do an inlay of a nice veneer for the names and the inner heart.

Looks great! What software did you use to create the design? Thanks.

I started with a dxf that I found on an Instructables and pulled it into Inkscape. Tweaked it for my needs and fixed some path issues, drew out the curves for the puzzle pieces, added the center heart and names and did all the CAM work in LaserWeb4. Then ran it in LW3.
