very nice! I was just designing a spool holder for my kossel mini and contemplating how thick to make the beam. What are the cross-section dimensions you used?
Gday Dominic, the beam on mine is 15mm wide and 12mm high. It is printed with 20% infill. Plenty strong enough for a 1kg spool.
Thanks for the dimensions! I ended up printing something similar last night, though mine didn’t have the nifty adjustment feature. I ended up doing a 15mm x 30mm beam (and 100mm long) with 35% hex infill, so it hopefully will hold up if it gets bumped.
