No, it isn’t. It’s 1222 APA106 LEDs that mounted as “WELCOME” word on a plexy.
Looks great! I’d love to know more, if you have any build pics or details to share. Did you drill a hole in the acrylic for each LED? Hand solder all the connections, or use connectors? What board are you driving it with?

I draw leds in coreldraw and pierce them with a co2 laser, and wrote a software with C# that get the corel file like this:

and get position of leds and convert pic file(gif,…) to binary(RGB)
The software generate 2 file , a conf.bin that contain leds count , channels count , count leds in each channel , led order , frames count, … and a file that contain leds data.

I use Arduino mega2560 with a microSD card that contain data.
