LOL Cura! WTH? I thought I was printing out a gear and worm drive, return to the office to find a little robot has taken over.

Thats too funny

If so why didn’t I have the robot on screen instead? As you can see on the monitor in the background and reflected in the mirror the robot it not visible. I’ve done a Save, the build window is saying “4 Hours 9 minutes, 6.92 meter 20 gram” which sounds right for the gears yet I’ve hit print and … a THIRD robot is on it’s way… Maybe this is a Cura 14.12.1 bug. Either that or the Adipose have found another way in…

Nah, in that case the robot should be showing on screen. I think he must have hit print too early. If you bring up the print dialog when the robot is showing, then loss something else, but hit print before it is done doing, the robot is what will print.

You need to close the print dialog window and press print again to reload the new gcode. It doesn’t update automatically when you load new files.

Hopefully that will be it Howard. After the first print the “Printing on COM3” dialogue box was still there, with two options: Connect and Print. I didn’t realise I had to close it.

I think I’ll keep it open for one last robot. Watching the third up real close I noticed some of the support material moving around under the print head. I got my large house fan out and cooled it from ~ 1/2 way upwards. The difference in print quality it very noticeable. I’ll print #4 with fan on full blast, see how it comes out.

Thanks for the confirmation David. Feels like a bit of a GUI flaw if you ask me.

This is why I always do the layer view before committing.
