Long data runs…

For the art car, I am looking at locating the controller at the front, with up to 30 feet (9 meters) to the farthest strip. Will this work? Is there a maximum distance for the data lines? Is there a signal booster I can build?

I will be using both WS2812B Strips as well as those P9813 controllers.

9m will work fine with twisted pairs inside a CAT 6(+) cable. Every single WS2812B can be abused as a signal booster if needed.

@Stefan_Petrick thats a good point of using a single LED to boost the signal. With a CAT 6(+) cable should i use a single pair to connect up to the data pin on the arduino and the strip?

I’m not sure if I get your question right. One pair has 2 wires - one connects the grounds together and one connects the data output pin with D_in from the first led.
