Long time no see! how is everyone? I have a quick question. I have letters embedded into a print and I need to know how to get slic3r to only fill in one direction and not multiple directions. any help would be great.

Don’t know about that, but thank you for your middleman board design, it has help hundreds if not thousands of us mod our K40’s

WeisTek! The name rings a loud bell.
It’s inspired quite a few things:

@raykholo nice! Glad to have been an inspiration! Looks like a pretty sweet board.

May have to get back into the swing of things after my long break.

I think it’s detecting those as bridges, so it tries to determine the best direction to bridge in. Looks like it failed. You would somehow need to turn off bridge detection or modify it.
What version of slic3r are you using?

@Stephanie_A oh that makes sense, ah I’ll have to look and see when I get inside. Also long time no see. How you been?

Maybe you can use Cura as slicer. Cura always make first the contours and than fills in everything within this contour in the same direction. Than going to the next layer it will first do the contours and then fill in everything in the perpendicular direction of the previous layer. And so on.

It’s difficult to get these kind of embossed letters consistently perfect, turning bridging off as Stephanie says helps if you don’t get too much drooping in the middle.

Another option is to make a one-layer hole over the entire logo, but it only works if it’s not too big.

The solution I most end up with is I only embossing the outline of the letters. Darker filaments makes it a bit harder to see, but it slices and prints without any issues.
