Now to just convince the local stores to carry the plastic in stock…
Too bad its the Infinia. Better get Makerbot replicator 2 for A high end model. I think that they don’t want to upset those who are new to the 3D printing world. The more people we have printing the cheaper and better our products can become. The shacks employees need training for this too. Our local RS should be called Cellular shack for that’s all those kids care about… The commission . Ask for NPN or PNP transistor, and they look at you like your the stupid one.
I find it ironic that radio shack found its way back to its roots by selling smart phones. Most smart phones have a half dozen different radios in them.
I’ve talked to several store managers. They thought 3d printing is about the coolest thing they’ve seen. They didn’t know how to support it. They already have half the electronics for one way of running repraps.
I’d only Buy their plastic in a need it now situation. Then the markup is worth the instant gratification.
As it has been since 2000, Radioshack is overpriced on everything. Their printer is something like $1500, so here is hoping it is a quality printer. Their filament is also quite expensive. They really need to work on their pricing. Maybe 3d printing could help with that some. I think it would be great if the staff could custom print bits for you to wire up with their electronics and motors. It would be a great improvement.
Last time I was on their site I bumped into the filament but didn’t see any printers.
Yeah their pricing is a little off but as said above, it would be nice if the plastic was available in stores for emergencies .
Just looked at the Newegg page, they have a prusa v2 on there. cool.
Their pricing will always be higher than online. Mall rents are high. Their business model requires more markup.
It would be handy to be able to pull in on the way home from work and buy a color for an idea you had just an few hours before.
Boo. No 3mm filament.
I guess for that reason, I’m out.
p.s. where is this filament from?? Is it ‘cheap’ filament with a premium $$ ?
