Looking for a USB camera that has a wide angle (somewhere around 170 degrees) and decent quality for monitoring my printer and creating time lapses. I’m currently using a Logitech c920 but the camera angle isn’t wide enough and I have to mount it too far away from the bed. I don’t want the camera to be too heavy or it’ll cause the entire thing to jerk badly when the bed moves. Any suggestions?
A GoPro?
That it’s the camera that I use. Maybe you can put some wide angle lense? Something like a smartphone lense
You can buy a C-mount housing for the c920. Then get the widest angle C-mount lens you find/afford. Or find some other small wide-angle lens and find/design a mount for it.
GoPro is probably overkill, but any cheap knockoff will surely do.
@Gianluca_Sforna what about sj5000? Here in Spain it’s about 70€
@Luis_Diaz yep, I have the 4000HD and it’s decent.
@Gianluca_Sforna does it worth it? I’ve been thinking of getting it a lot of times…
GoPro is gonna be way too expensive for my needs. I was looking at generic action cams in the sub $100 range and they’re pretty good but not as light as I’d like.
@Gianluca_Sforna whats the 4000HD?
@Adam_Steinmark it’s a low price go pro like action camera.
Mobius is good and cheap
That’s what I like about the raspberry pi camera modules, super small and light, nice wide angle lens, put a nice long ribbon cable on it and it’s good to go. Does require a raspberry pi though.
My son uses a simple vehicle dash-cam. They’re easy to mount, have a wide angle and a decent one can be had on eBay for under $50 bucks.
