anyone have a good way to “Frost” the outer 4" tube?

Probably the best thing is opaque window film
Maybe this stuff?
Also acetone should work. Try some nail polish remover
I’ve used the Rust-Oleum that @Chris_Creel linked on some thin acrylic with excellent results! Just note that it does scratch off if anything sharp hits it
I have a can of Rust-Oleum Frosted Glass spray as shown by Chris Creel. Works great.
Just a bit of a rub with sandpaper does it - permanently. I use 200 grit to good effect.
Fake snow spray works too. You can pick it up cheap the first week of January 
How is this going to be powered? I am building something similar, and I’m looking for a battery solution.
