Made more progress this weekend. Bed carriage and z-stage is cobbled together. It is not the final parts, but I had to use what I had laying around.

I made a temporary lead screw nut using a M8-1.0 nut, a rubber grommet, and super glue. it actually works really well and has the added benefit of allowing for misalignment.

So now that I am at this stage and my design seems to be working mechanically… I went and bought the expensive parts this weekend:

  1. 24v x 450 watt MeanWell power supply
  2. Azteeg X3 w/ Viki LCD
  3. 2 x EZstruder Mounts
    4.) 2 x E3D-v5 hot ends
5.) Large 24V silicon mat bed heater

Once I get some miles on it I will replace the M8-1.0 threaded rods with a real leadscrew.

Mighty nice.

Nice built. I’ve exprienced some ocasional asymmetric motion when changing direction on the sides’ sliders of H-bot configuration. Did you notice anything like that?

That looks like one sturdy frame!

@Miguel_Sanchez not yet… But its my first printer ever and it has never been powered up. I will be getting the electronics by the end of the week.

That reminds me. Is anyone willing to help me setup a marlin configuration for this? I sure I can figure it out… But if someone could help me with the basic config it would be appreciated.

That’s a serious frame.

@Eclsnowman Actually, it is quite simple: similar to other 3D printers configuration but select COREXY in Configuration.h.

@Nathan_Ryan Thanks. Should be really easy to make an enclosure. Just add side panels. I need to figure out the top of the enclosure still. I will probably glue up some lexan panels to create a 5 sided box with hinges at the back so the electrical and filiment has headroom to move freely.

@Miguel_Sanchez thanks for the great link. I will work on this tonight. Can I hit you up if I run into questions?

@Eclsnowman Sure, but I’m in GMT+2, so I will go to bed in five hours

Hi there! looks familiar, http://www.cubespawn.com

@James_Jones_CubeSpaw looks like yours is more ultimaker kinematics vs H-bot and uses a cantilevered Z-bed vs midpoint drive. But it looks like a nice setup.

@Eclsnowman At present there are 3 models:

an ultimaker clone, a 3 axis mill, and a pallet mover.

I also have sketches for a tool changer, a spindle changer, a tool setter, a tool grinder and a few others… loooong term labor of love - I want a replicator!!!
So I’m building a system to act like one
