Maker Coat of Arms

Been thinking lately about my growth as a maker and wanted to make something to represent this. This lead me to thinking about what my maker coat of arms might look like.

My skills as a maker currently revolve around laser crafting and woodworking and this is my first attempt at that representation. It’s a 2 layer pin (1.5"h) made from stained and unstained 1/8" alder with paint and a red swarovski crystal rhinestone. Gloss poly finish.

What might your maker coat of arms look like?

I love this button so I decided to upgrade it to a magnetic back. Better for more every day wear

I glue an extra 2x8mm magnet to the front plate for extra holding power.

Lol when I worked in a lab those were standing accessories for your lab coat. Helped organize your pens, lab marker, small balance spatulas, tweezers etc.

I had one in my pocket many years …

I love it!

I am really into the medieval/renaissance scene and have my own coat of arms for reenactment groups which I repurposed as a logo for my Etsy shop.

I love that you made your own coat of arms based on the making you do. You should get it put on a branding iron or something and use it as a makers mark.

Looks great! As I started thinking about how I might make mine starting off with a FreeCAD designed base which would be CNC’ed, I started thinking about the 3D printed part(s) and laser cut parts. That’s when Thalianost posted about the branding iron and how makers today use lasers instead of branding iron.

Which led me to the K40 and all the talk of safety switches AND how NedMan’s looks like it could double as an eye patch. Sooo, I think the K40 section of these forums needs a modification to NedMan’s design to make it into an eye patch but with something like this on the front -
