Making #Halloween stuff for the kids. The Crystal are detachable and the cauldron can be filled with treats. Or tricks.
Can’t help to notice the “ringing” on that cauldron. There are no sharp angle turn there but it still rings hmm have you thought about possible solution?
No, not yet. It is printed on a CraftBot 2 @ 3600mm/min on the axis and 4800mm/min movements. I noticed the ringing issue after half a year usage on these machines. Firmware ia closes and the machine is actually okay. Maybe its a S3D setting wrong. I could try to print slower though it will increase printing time massively.
Are you sure you don’t mean mm/min?
Edited
It almost looks like belt pitch, does the printer use a pulley on a bearing for an idler or is it a blind cylinder of some kind without teeth on it?
The belt is moved by 20T pulleys in the x and y axis, the redirection to the extruder (xy core) are four screw mounted shielded bearings and another two for the crossing section of the belt. I started another one with reduced speed, because mostly the ringing happens in rounded shapes. In rectangular shapes everything is okay. The CraftBot in general is a very robust designed printer.
A while back I had something similar showing up while printing Marvin. The curve body was ringing… Turns out I had set jerk setting too low.
Hey where could one find the models for this print. Would love to print one for Halloween.
@Daniel_Carter I will upload them to thingiverse in a few
Ringing? Reminds of the Louis CK Everything Is Amazing And Nobody Is Happy bit about flying.
You magically created an awesome thing… on a machine that turns strings of plastic into 3D objects… using 1’s and 0’s!
Nice work!
You don’t get to where we are today by ignoring details
Totally agree! Everyone else’s attention to detail is the only way I have
a hope of making my own stuff!
I think the truth lies somewhere in between. But to stay on topic - I found out a funny thing. The ringing looks pretty much like the optical illusion created on screens when using slice preview on S3D.
