Marlin RC7, all I can say is that I’m highly impressed. It’s only on one of my Migbot Prusa i3’s at the moment, but holy hell it’s so smooth. For an Acrylic framed, direct drive printer, that frankly could do with some TLC (it’s had about 7 hours worth today when I’ve been battling firmware and under extrusion issues, but needs a lot of parts re-printing), it’s made a hell of a difference. Movements seem to be more precise and I’m running fast for this machine at 65mm/s base speed. Worth giving it a shot if you’ve not tried it.

are you using the auto-bed-mesh-leveling?
i am using rc7 but have not tried it yet (the bed levelling).
but a colleague who has a migbot with an sn04-n sensor says it’s out of whack and that even though his bed is pretty level it lowers the z axis going to the right and raises it going to the left by a noticable amount… he has rolled back to rc6, and i have not had time to look through the commits yet.

btw - i have not noticed any difference in performance using it on my test machine (which is a prusa-i3 style printer), mainly improvements to the menu system and responsiveness, although scrolling through the files to print from an sd-card takes forever now (not that it was ever fast)…

all-in-all i’m about ready to take the next step in a few weeks when i have more time (september 1st can’t come soon enough) and maybe get a board to run smoothie… maybe contribute a bit to the project…

@Tom_Keidar - yup, it’s a Large Bed Migbot with an SN04 probe, although the hot end is a E3D Lite6. It took a bit of battling to get it right and work out changes from RC6… For example the store probe lift. This time, though, I’ve not hacked at the settings to get it where I want it to probe, the settings are correct to where the probe is located. Which means it doesn’t probe the far back of the bed, more along where the bed screws are but it seems to be more stable that way, bearing in mind I’ve only run 2 prints on it.

I just need to tweak positioning a little more, it’s about 5mm off centre on the X. Getting the offset was a bit of a pain, though, until I worked out that I needed to drop the Z by 1mm, then calibrate the offset, guess I could set the Store probe position to -1. Other that that I’ve had no issues.

The reason I say smooth is the difference in travel movements is perceptibly smoother. I always found it a bit jerky on the Migbots.
