May or may not have a prototype of one of the best printers Ive ever touched in front of me right now…

What is “prototype” about it? Old model, new model, some new feature?

@Joe_Spanier no NDA? :wink:

Hence Prototype. That was the request. lol. If you go to http://Devel.lulzbot.com its pretty obvious what your looking at.

I want to do a big write up on it but the TL:DR version is this:
Functionality improvements-
AutoLevel (so damn good too) and nozzle wipe
ZMin searching instead of Z MAX like the Mini
Babystepping enabled in LCD

Reliability-
Fans out the wazhoo on the hotend. Remember the squirrel cage fan. Yea its a big ass 40mm fan with 2 print cooling fans on the head.
12mm rods on the x axis to combat droop
New power supply with more amps for power and reliability
New motors- super quiet and have disconnects on motor for easier replacement in the event of a failure
Cleaner wire looms for less “Oh shit my wires are caught in my hotend”

Most important. 10 minutes From the time I cut the box open until printing.

Ahh … TAZ 6

No No say it with me “prototype”

Hiiii

Everyone knows it’s coming, call it a cabbage if you like. We know what it is.

So very nice.

@Joe_Spanier exactly. Everyone can clearly see the text in the LCD says “PROTOTYPE is Ready”… Oh wait, Never mind. Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain… I mean LCD.

Love ours! Works day and night. Although word to the wise software makes the machine. Using simplify3d makes a huge difference in usability and accuracy.

TAZ 5 or “prototype”

i like this

TAZ 6!?! Hmmm…new bed leveling? Anti backlash nut? Looks like some fine pitch threaded rod…

Bed leveling functions just like the mini except for it homes to a min rather than max before nozzle wipe.

M12 precision acme screw for lead screw with screw stabilizers.

That “prototype” looks great. I LOVE that it has the same auto bed leveling as the Mini. /jealous
