Mechanika d324|16

I 3D-printed this nozzle actuator for a fontaine, as 2 Parts only (upper-lower ring) – no further assembly (or cleaning), total of 60 hinges. The Hinges were moved once, before combining the rings, to ease them.

Looks cool, even as a pure “thing”, but is it intended for a particular purpose as well?

That was printed?! Looks good enough to be injection moulded. What was it printed on?

@Mark_Wheadon that was the thirst think that came in my mind😆 has it a real use, or is it only Art/show

@Mark_Wheadon @Sebastian_Schmidt There is…just printing the base part with two servomounts - so it is the nozzle actuator for a small fountain (or a shower head … kidding).
Will post pic/mov on my page the next days.

@James_Coyle well, what you see is the undersurface where it was printed onto Kapton (bonding and surface) on 0.3mm glas (planarity) on Alu (heatdispersion) the other side is rough as you recognize it.

@Ulrich_Baer aah nice idea.
You dont see such projects everyday :laughing:

I want to print one!

Looks very similar to the vane control ring on variable nozzle/geometry style turbochargers.

@Jeremy_Banks from what i could find so far they using it to rotate the blades not moving them inwards(radial) so its ½ of it and inverted :wink: as i will move the nozzles in 2Dimensions not turning them.

what is it used for?

@Marcus_Wolschon nozzel actuator for a fontaine…

(@Joe_C_Hecht happy to hear about the results. )

Which printer is that printed on.

@Michael_Scholtz some PMMA Prusa I3 kit (cost about ~200€ assembled and setup by myself)

@Ulrich_Baer Much thanks!
