Merry Christmas everyone! Here’s a video of my light display for this year: https://youtu.be/LjgJN3SzmT0. The audio is a little off as I quickly added it in post production.

The lights are powered by my own open-source sequencing software called Sparkled (https://github.com/sparkled/sparkled). It’s still in early stages (pre Alpha), but it’s coming along in leaps and bounds.

The pillars are using APA102 LED strips and the roof is using my old dodgy UCS1903s (which will be replaced in the future). They are being driven by ESP32s running the Sparkled ESP32 client, which I haven’t added to GitHub yet.

There’s a lot of room for improvement in this sequence (I rushed it together in a couple of hours), but I’m really proud of what I’ve achieved for the year and I’m excited to share progress with you guys in the future.

I’ve registered https://sparkled.io and slapped up some filler content, but that will also improve as time goes on. I’d love to get Sparkled to the point where other people can use it to create awesome stuff!

Very interesting project. Looking forward to seeing it progress.

And your light display looks great! Quite cool. Merry Christmas 2017!
