Microsoft is really on board this whole 3D printing thing, loading Windows 8.1 with native 3D printing capabilities and working closely with MakerBot to develop a driver for the latter’s Replicator 2 3D printer, but that’s not all. Microsoft also now has a free app on the Windows Store called 3D Builder that lets users more easily set up a design for 3D printing…

Interesting, but I can’t find it in store when searching and the direct link in the article only directs me to the store front page. Are they doing rollouts region by region or something?

Using windows 8.1? Also change your region in United States.

Yes, you have to be running Win 8.1 I believe and I did have to search for it. If search “3D Build” it comes up. It’s there for sure, at least in the US region, not sure about others.

I’m on Windows 8.1 Pro with English locale but Swedish regional settings. It doesn’t turn up when searching so I guess I’ll just wait and see. It’s no show stopper for me

Hang on, hang on… I’m determined. Try this…

Pretty sure that’s the office app page and I can see it here on my Win 7 rig even, though there’s no download option for Win 7 it seems.

@HotHardware hehe nope. Only after changing the region to USA like in the link from @Eddy_Castro . I really dislike region “locked” crap. Grrrr.
