Microsoft Netfabb now only offers cleaned meshes in 3MF format ?! Can’t see an option to download in STL. It’s a good thing maybe.
@Florian_Ford not seen this. Just done a few and downloaded as STL fine…
https://netfabb.azurewebsites.net - uploaded an stl, got back an stl
hmmm I have just noticed I got redirected at https://tools3d.azurewebsites.net/ … will try netfabb again. Thanks.
It would be interesting to explore 3mf though … what slicers/apps can read 3mf as of now?
Yep, it’s still the same.
yeah tools3d gives me a weird hexadecimal filename with no extension so I don’t know what’s up there but the netfabb one works for me as it always has. I’m using chrome on windows, I wonder if that matters?
I’m on FF and i get a 3mf extension for the downloaded file.
Can’t imagine that the browser makes any difference. As far as I know the service offers a download in the same format as the uploaded file.
@Florian_Ford are you sure the file you’re uploading is an STL (and not just the extension, was it actually produced as an STL)?
I’m 100% sure it’s not netfabb, I’ve just done another quick test and it all looks fine to me.
I don’t have any 3mf files to upload yet I am given the 3mf file after cleanup.
Where did the file you’re uploading come from? Are you sure you didn’t accidentally export it as a 3MF and give it an STL extension?
Are you logged into the netfabb site?
I can confirm that I am seeing the same issue with Chrome on Linux - NetFabb redirects to the “3dtools” site, and converts my STL to the 3mf format on output.
