Milling aluminum parts for a scratch build 3D printer I am designing. Learning lots in the process. Chilipeppr and the tinyg have been pretty damn solid, only a couple of tinyg issues thus far.
That’s really cool
Are you having issues with chilipeppr in chrome? All the sudden the visualizer is unable to work on mine.
None, but im using my own workspace/viewer widget in chromium on a raspberry pi
Ah thanks
So where would you recommend I start researching to build a setup like that? Would love to bring that project to the lical MakerSpace
Ive started on a blog post about what I did. It’ll probably be up in a week or two. Lots of pics of my progress on twitter: https://twitter.com/dchote/media
Awesome! I really want to untether from the xp towers!
Lovely work! Keep posting & good luck.
If you have a Golf supply store nearby, get a roll of grip tape. Preferably the wide tape, but narrow will work too. It is a double-sided tape, strong enough to hold down aluminum sheets for milling. Just make sure your sacrificial layer is smooth, and free of dust, and press down with good force. No more tabs!
What feeds and speeds are you using? Is that 1/4" aluminum?
