I visited the mediated matter lab where this was built years ago (2011?) - this project was inactive at the time and couldn’t actually print.
I think 5 axis a la sextupteron is the way forward, not drum printers like this.
I wondered if anyone would do a “lathe” like that. Well, there’s the Lion, but not quite what I had in mind. I don’t know what niche any kind of rotary additive machine could serve though.
