Managed to get the vest up and running. Roberts code running so smooth. I was running off just 2amp pack at about 1/4 brightness here. I put on a couple of the outer layers after and it was still pretty bright.
also, i just had power going into the first strip, no powerbus in use, but the whole thing seems to light up fine. I did wire some power injection points every second strip as a precaution. lots more work to do, but again just wanted to give prop to the wizard @Robert_Atkins
@Jack_Keeney it’s all based off @Robert_Atkins vest masterpiece. If you search his post from 2014-now, you’ll find lots of info plus his code. I’ve taken from his experience and done some wiring differently (different power bus method) and my schematic setup for the teensy and buttons will be updated/different. I’ll post my own build pics eventually. I still need to dive in and add some of my own flavour to the build still.
I wired my power bus from the powerpack with power going to the middle of bus. the leds connect on both ends and in the middle (3 spots). it’s running like a charm right now.
not sure if its my new powerpack, but i can run off the one usb and hit the 4A cutoff without any issues or decrease in performance/brightness. not sure if it’s actually drawing the 4a though. but its certainly brighter than it needs to be. going to play with the power mgmt more tomorrow.
