More plotting on my CNC machine. What can I say? I like to plot with it. I’m not completely done with the design yet. Once I am I’ll engrave it onto something. I still love plots though.
Plotting is always quite satisfying.
And that’s a great looking design there.
Nice! And good detail. This practice will come in handy.
@Giligain_I
I plot to get a general idea of the size of things. The computer tells me how big stuff is going to come out, but that still isn’t quite like seeing it. Somehow the subjective experience of seeing plots is fundamentally different than viewing jobs on screens for me. I don’t quite know why that is either. But it is. I saw this stuff when I edited the pattern, I saw it when I converted it to a vector graphic. I saw it when I converted it to G Code, and I saw it when I simulate ran it too. I even saw it in Axis right before I hit the run button. But none of that was like seeing it come off my machine. I certainly had a good idea what it was going to be like. There is still a palpable cognitive gulf between all of those screen views and the hard copy for me though.
Hmm, I never gave scaling much thought about being a difficult concept to grasp. I take my education for granted in this area: from designing structural connections for clearance ‘build-ability’, to designing whole 3-4 story structures, to laying out parking lots and striping, to underground civil engineering. Scales of many scales: 1:1000ft for site map, to 1:1/8" for details.
I dig it
@Chaotic_Logic
my machine is more talented than I ever was. And I used to think I could draw too!
