More Prints, I think I isolated the problem for failed prints
It takes time but the Quadrap CoreXY is getting better. I got some new stepper drivers (4 layer PCB) with better heat absorbation. Put some extra large heat sinks I cut from recycled heat sinks. So far I did not loose any steps, printed some larger parts. Some of them took about 3h to print (50mm/s, acceleration 4000mm/s^2.
I think I need to tweak my esteps as my first and last layers are not 100% solid. No hot end jams for quite a while, 1.5mm retraction @20mm/s.
Next step is to do proper wireing and setup raspberry pi with octoprint.
Layer alignment looks great (that tube clamp piece especially). And your circles are round which is better than I could ever do with corexy. Great job.
For estep adjustment I do it with the hot end at temp and at a normal printing extrusion rate. I have found that yields the best visual results for calibrating to actual print conditions.
thanks, circles are quite round, I think the printer prints them within ±0.1mm but there can be some warp depending on infill and geometry of the part. This “tube clamp” piece should serve as a shadow bycicle coupling, this is a prototype, I’d like to print it in nylon with high infill to get the strongest possible part. I don’t trust in ABS for this purpose…
