I decided to give Kisslicer a try. I found some settings that were demonstrated to work, but when I ran them earlier, well, you can see the results in the video. I have adjusted the extrusion width and so forth to match my printer. Any suggestions?
Looks like you’re starting with your nozzle too close to the platform and sounds like you’re trying to extrude about 10x too much plastic. What filament diameter did you set, and what is you esteps setting?
My filament diameter is set to 2.95mm and esteps I can’t track down immediately which is probably part of my problem. But Flow Tweak is set to 1, Min to 0.01 and Max to 10. I’m going to try tweaking that Max setting and see if that helps at all.
M503 will spit out a bunch of information, including your steps/mm settings. Your E axis should be 630. Make sure the kisslicer isn’t putting out an M92 code to change this. I know Cura sometimes does that.
Ok, then assuming you haven’t messed with the jumpers (E axis should be set to 1/8 step), bad E values from the slicer are the only thing that would be causing it to attempt to over-extrude.
@Bartlomiej_Ceglik I forgot I had that same issue, drove me nuts for my first few print attempts. It was like the retract got possessed, despite me shutting it off. Nice catch
