Much watching of the printing means not looking at the extruder, noticed it was very inconsistent with its feeding, no improvements no matter how much I played with the tension/force/pressure on the ‘clutch’
Looking at the feeder bolt there’s not really a lot of grip here.
1000% improvement in the filament feed.
Needing to run @ 200C anything less results in a failed print.
I suspect this PLA may be ABS as it bends rather than snaps when I fold a piece on itself.
It’s from a sampler pack of 5 colours, will use a different supplier next time I think.
@John_Cooper_choffee No, it was crap from the very first attempt, it just took me several attempts before I started paying attention to the filament and noticed it was only feeding maybe 1/4 of the time.
When I pulled the feeder apart there was very little PLA on the H-Bolt and what there was had moved up the bolt away from the part that actually touches the filament.
Once I got at it with the Dremel and deepened the cuts it began feeding 100% of the time.
