My A8 Prusa i3 DIY kit is at the post office. Can’t wait to build and start printing

its plexi glass frame?

@ThatNerdMike According to web site “Made from piano-black laser-cut acrylic frame”. But it was just the filament that arrived, printer is still on its way

Tweaking expected…I bought these for $230, so far prints for 15days 33min, and extruding from abs, hips, nylon, pla (with some effort), I use white pva glue mixed with water for pla, abc juice for abs and hips, two part epoxy on canvas for nylon, worked out pretty good, which kit did you buy? One with melzi?(mine got a fake ftdi chip) or with the ramps fd?

@Aria_C_Bramanta its this one from gearbest http://www.gearbest.com/3d-printers-3d-printer-kits/pp_343643.html

@Aria_C_Bramanta what is the highest extruder temperature that you’ve printed at? I’ve been afraid of melting the acrylic that holds the extruder.

Bed @100, and extruder @245(as higher would melt the ptfe tubing for extended period of time since temp deviation is high at those temp)

@Blaine_Lefebvre let me know if your printer works. Mine from gearbest had a faulty heater so.I swapped it out and it works great now.

@Ricardo_Arredondo mine is now together. But have a few faulty thermistor in the heat bed. I sent a email to their customer support

@Eric_Davies I can only get same printer to 95

@Blaine_Lefebvre just buy a new one locally, it’s cheaper…get some few more spares while you at it

@Aria_C_Bramanta yes i found some for 2$ each i will pick up at lunch today

@Ricardo_Arredondo I ran a variable resistor across the connecter and printed a few things last night. Got a new thermistor to replace non working one. After a few attempts it printed fine. Still a lot more to learn

turns out the thermister was fine it was the connector, luckily i bought some extra 3 and 4 pin connectors when i was at the store, replaced the connector and it good now

@Blaine_Lefebvre would you please link what you bought. I would appreciate it. I am deep diving into this awesome world.

@Ricardo_Arredondo check my profile. I just added image and link
