My build adventure. Thank you for all of the fellow community members who previously took the time to post all the helpful information. Coudnt have done it without you. Designed and successfully cut my first part ever last night. One almost finished dust boot that only needs magnets and no modifications or other devises to hold it on. Will post my finished version soon. Very exciting stuff!
Looks great matt. That first cut is exciting going isn’t it? From a machine YOU BUILT!
I love building my own, for me that’s half the fun. So far a Co2 laser, a Delta 3D printer, a couple of quads, helix and airplanes, an SLS 3D resin printer and now my R7.
It’s addictive!
Looks great!
What an amazing table! Congrats sir! Is that slate wall with aluminum insets for the table hold down? I purchased some to play with but haven’t tried it yet.
Very nice! Wish I took the time to make a torsion box like yours!
Thanks folks. The table is just 3/4 mdf on bottom with two on top with 1/2 mdf as the torsion “boxes” and sides. The hard part was modifying my table saw with a home made heavy duty fence system to be able to cut the mdf straight enough to make a torsion worth a hoot. I bought the t-track from Orange aluminum and recessed it 1/4 inch in the first layer of mdf with 3/4 mdf between the t-track. My goal is to build for the long haul as I plan to use for part of my side business. Thanks for the encouragement!
