My daughter built a cool Ghostbusters style Proton Pack out of cardboard, hot glue, paint, tape, and labels. I embellished it with some fun lighting effects using FastLED. I was going to do discrete LEDs but realized pretty quickly that I could do so much more with a lot less wiring using an addressable LED string.
I used the DEMO100 example sketch to dive in to the library.
The panel lights actually use the various beat functions so they gave me a great visualization of the functions.
The chase sequence use the beat8 sawtooth function with some cool trailing fades I lifted from DEMO100.
A simple project that was a great into to the library.
Great job on the build! Love it.
She’s adorable. Great job dad! Make sure you teach her how to solder and code too
“Who ya gonna call?”
