My DIY CNC - base frame soon ready. Have to test one more time that all is aligned ok. Base frame 50-60 kg - hope it is going to work ok.
A simple test, seems to be ok I think

I still find it a bit hard to select the correct controller/driver/stepper combination for my DIY CNC.
- Based on USB, Ethernet or LPT? (I think Ethernet or LPT)?
- Should I select controller that supports Mach3 or use other software…?
- I use Fusion 360 for my designs - there is CAM support, but I have not tested it, do not know how it is compared to other software…
I`ll spend some time while working with the hardware part and try to find a setup that is ok.
A lot to learn I guess, but that is some of the fun with projects like this (Learning by doing)
1610 ballscrew for the x-axis arrived today. Have to start working on the gantry parts.

What kind of couplings should I use?
Flexible Jaw Coupling like this:
or like this?
Other/better alternatives?
I consider a setup something like this:
- Use belt/pulley coupling 1:1, 1:2 or 1:4
- Nema 23 with medium Oz (300+
) with low inductance
Gecko 540 (solid and safe) - PSU with 48V
I need some more time before I decide what controller… to use
