My DIY CNC project - Computer/OS/Software

I did consider LinuxCNC as an alternative, but decided to go with the Pokeys57CNC controller (all ready have one) so I do not have to spend time waiting for a new controller, learning Linux…

I plan to run MACH4 Hobby

I guess Windows 7 is the best OS when running MACH4? 64Bit ok?
HP i5 computer 16Gb ram and 180Gb SSD

Or Windows 10?

A friend of mine have Pokeys + Mach 4 and use Ethernet = less noise…

Take a look at Art Fenerty’s Auggie controller on http://gearotic.com . It suggorts higher order acceleration, works with the Pokeys, and is free. Art’s the original Mach developer, and Auggie’s one if his retirement projects
