My DIY CNC project - today the plates for Y-screw/motor + the Z-top plate

My DIY CNC project - today the plates for Y-screw/motor + the Z-top plate arrived.
10mm quality alu made using waterjet cutter.
Done a test install and all seems to be as planned - now I have to wait for the Y-ball screws to arrive.

What size bed did you end up with, looks great!

Y ball screw…is that a 3 thread per rotation threaded rod?

Something like X-55cm, Y-100cm and Z -20cm

@NathanielStenzel I’m going to use 1610 on the y and x axis ,1605 on Z-axis

I like the clean design. Looks great. How are you planning to attached the X-axis motor?

total dimenzions width 966mm and length 1230mm

@Jay_Polo x axis motor on the rear using pulleys and belt between the ballscrew and motor.

I have designed the motor mounts for the Y and Z axis so they support direct motor mount or using belt/pulleys.

I plan to test 2:1 belt pulley setup on all axis - I can alter the ratio later if I have to.

When the Y screws + belt/pulley kits arrives I have all the mecanichal parts.

Soon I can start installing end-stops, testing the stepper motors… - this is fun and exiting :slight_smile:

the base frame is made using two Bosh 90x90 profiles + 4 x bosh 45x90 profiles

@Oyvind_Amundsen OH! ha ha ha… Application not actual thread description. Gotcha. I thought it was a special threaded rod description for a moment. Silly me!
