My DW660 is too noisy…
I’m thinking to buy this:

any one using a similar spindle with good results?

Go with a 0.8kw water cooled instead. It’ll be quieter.

Also make sure it has four bearings

Make sure it’s a legit VFD. The knock offs burn out. Somewhere there is an article showing the differences between real and knockoff.

Water cooled makes less noise, if only by a few dB. 1.5 is a lot for the OX. Agreed with @Julius_Jahn go .8kW. Typically a little harder to find and at times more $, but a better fit for purpose.

I’ll look for the 0.8kw water cooled with legit vfd!
But for the water cooling system what will I need other than spindle and vfd?

I use that 1.5kw one, pretty much the same as the ebay link. It’s a bit heavy for the Ox (there is a little tiny flex around the X axis) but it works very well, and isn’t too noisy really…
