My e3dv6 arrived yesterday, I promptly threw it in production and had a good 12 hours of awesome printing…but
It occasionally spikes to MAXTEMP. I’m 95% certain it’s grounding out between the thermistor and heat block due to the fiberglass insulation installation being so fiddly.
So another 4 day turn-around and wait, or…I still have some spare ferrules and thermistors…what the heck can I source locally to replace that insulation (…that isn’t kapton!
)
I use very thin ptfe tubing. Think you can get it where the sell fly fishing equipment.
Doubt you can find some locally. I have some spare though…
Thanks, it’s cool. I loosened everything up, pushed the fiberglass in a little tighter, retightened, and I think it’s cleared up.
+1 on the thin PTFE tubing. I had to get it in a roll at about US$50 for a few hundred feet.
http://hotends.com (original JHead) uses the same for his themistor kits and sells it in small qty.
