My Filastruder has arrived at work today. I can guess what I’ll be doing for a good part of this weekend. Hopefully I’ll be running the first batch of resin to clean out the auger/extrusion path. I may try to dye some of the scratch batch just to see how it looks. I won’t be able to print with it due to the extreme probability of contamination, but hopefully I’ll have a handle on the process afterwards. I ordered both ABS and PLA resin and some of their colorant too. But the dye I’m going to try will be Ritz.
It comes in resin ? I thought you fed it pellets.
Folks seem to call the pellets plastic resin. I got 14 lbs of it. About half ABS, half PLA plus some yellow colorant.
ABS is pretty reliable, but the PLA will probably cause you problems. Make sure to pre-dry it, but even then its pretty finicky.
