My first 3D printer build and my first post in this community:

A modified Rostock Mini.

People with more experience than me apparently consider this model to be very easy-to-build, efficient and elegant for a low-cost 3D printer.

My kit had one of the 6 metal-rods with a slightly larger diameter (0.04mm wider than the other rods), so that the linear bearing had too much resistance. The supplier reacted swiftly by sending me a full set of 6 new rods which arrived 3 days after they received my complaint.

I learned a lot from building this.
All thanks go to tech-guru extraordinaire @James_Hutchinson .

Sadly it seems like a certain other company got wind of an early beta of this set of modifications to the Rostock Mini, and hastily claimed authorship.

Such fuckery for profit is pathetic and seems to be on the rise in the 3D printing world.

The consequence of this is that we will not be working on a proper building-guide for noobs as was intended, but rather go dark and only share ideas when they are ready for publishing.

Great looking printer! Congrats and welcome.

Thanks

Cool! … and this is why I moved to CC-BY-SA-NC license which is apparently (according to the OSHWA) closed source. What ever… good luck on the commissioning!

Looking nice! Firmware loaded up yet? Sailfish supports deltas also, but Marlin what most use. Lets hope it can dump plastic at 300mm/s!

Cheers
James

Hi, nice build.
Could you provide us with the source of the kit?
Realy need a supplier without the fuckery. They should take responsibiltity for the stuff the sell. Not again the same misery as with the Makibox, please.
