My first commercial router...

My first commercial router… There’s a very dim light at the end of the tunnel for DIYers.

How much did you pay for this beast?

Cool, to big for my garage

180k usd new. As a used machine you can pick them up for 100 or less. 20 tool magazine, 16hp hsk63f spindle with c axis, 18 drill multidrill head with a saw and 4 horizontal bits going in all 4 directions. Twin Becker vacs…

Does it make coffee? Lol… Very nice…

What is your opinion on Chinese CNC routers?

That looks like a serious workhorse. Lots of dust vacuum power, too. Wait…“18 drill multidrill head with a saw and 4 horizontal bits going in all 4 directions”? Whoa. That explains the price.

Doesn’t make coffee, but will unload parts and vacuum up the entire bed after machining. The unload ramp isn’t installed at the moment because of space.

@Max_Kalin all depends on what your end goal is. Always buy within your budget but remember that there’s an entire generation of cnc routers that have depreciated down in industry that will be phased out and scrapped or sold.

I’m also a huge proponent of software. I train people in the use of alphacam (a program that’s the best for cabinet shops and woodworkers). Without a great piece of software and a well versed programmer these machines are literally just dust collectors. This machine sat dormant for over a year at a shop because management and the employees couldn’t get their act together. It now runs between 10 and 30 sheets a day, 5 days a week.
