My first print with support. I still need to improve the detail and scale up the print but not half bad
That looks a little blobby to me, are you sure you’re extruding the correct amount?
I’m not sure tbh, I just upgraded the board from a sanguinololu to megatronics v2 and am still working out the kinks
It’s a dinosaur that my mate designed
@Yomi_Colledge Easiest way to see if you’re over-extruding is to print a solid cube and (after 5 or so layers) turn down your extrusion multiplier till you see gaps between the infill layers, then tweek it back up in small increments until the gaps are gone. Usually only takes 1 cube to get this dialled in.
Haha, yh I’ve been having fun trying to remove the support from the dino’s mouth. I’m gonna give it another try at double the size tonight
@Tim_Rastall cheers for the tip
I’ll have to give that a try tonight
What slicer are you using?
@Tim_Rastall I’m using slic3r ATM
@Yomi_Colledge At the risk of sounding like a broken record, try Kisslicer or Cura if you want better supports, Slic3r is a bit behind them in that regard. Also, any chance you’re mate will be sharing the dino model? My son’s crazy about dinosaurs at the moment.
Sweet, I’ll give those a try too. Cheers for the tips.
I was actually gonna ask my mate to upload it to thingiverse. That print was blown up to 1000%, looks like it needs to be around 2000%-2500%, so he’ll have to scale it up in blender first
@Tim_Rastall cheers for the advice. I’ll give those slicers a try. I’ll try a decrease the extrusion rate too and see how my next print goes
