My first proper cuts with my cheap clamping system.
Anyone have tips on reducing burs?

Not exactly a useful item, but it looks like it is cutting right. I just wish I did not have so many burs to clean up.

Go over it lightly with a sanding sponge and it will take the splinters off.
@Chris_Miller Thanks. I figured something like that would work. I just was not sure if there was another step that people tend to do. I guess it is the most obvious of solutions.
Straight flute bits also produce less tearout in wood.
LOL I think I need some hearing protection.
Preferably, hearing protection in the style of headphones that I can use to watch netflix or hulu while I mill.
Downward spiral cutting bit. Will make a big difference. Especially in plywood
PPE is a must. Plus don’t ever leave it unattended. Several of the Youtube’rs lately are very guilty of it. All not ending well.
@Kevin_Barry I have not tried it. I am not sure if I could control it either.
don’t get regular headphones. get something made to protect your hearing. big difference. these work well: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00009LI4K/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
and if you are going to have kids watching or helping, also have a nail next to that one with a kid pair hanging up. These work good but are still big enough that an adult can wear them in a pinch: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000I7NX5E/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
@NathanielStenzel I would recommend the quiet cut spindle upgrade. I did that and haven’t looked back, mostly because I can hear what’s behind me now!
Well, I noticed a little bit ago that my dremel must not have been straight, so I fixed that with a couple of washers to shim the angle. It looks straight now.
