My first proper print in LayWoo-D3.

My first proper print in LayWoo-D3. A commission from a Trekkie at work; I hope he likes it.

Forgot to say, I used this one - http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:64937

how long did that take to print and did he submit plans to you or did you draw them?

About 10 hours, I think. Not my design - I downloaded from the link in my previous comment.

This pic reminds me of trying to print an old 15th century sail ship. I think that would look very authentic.

Wow, I’m surprised at how it came out in that last picture. The wood-ness of it isn’t clear until you get it all together I guess.

awesome!

howow, I did’t realise it could come out so nice.

are you going to sand it? How strong is the laywoo-d3?

To boldly get splinters… Nice job.

@Nathan_Ryan re. sanding, please view comments on the third photo. Strength depends on the density of infill and number of perimeters that you specify. This feels a bit like pine - stronger than balsa wood, but not like a hardwood.
