My first use of Polysmooth. Transparent Polysmooth before and after Polyshing. 0.15mm layer height on an Original Prusa i3 MK2S. 40min Polyshing with 99.9% IPA. Result!
Possibly even a game changer?

Whats that? Looks interesting
@Thomas_Sanladerer Have you tried this? In regards to your latest video about polishing.
@Daniel_Stauffer It was a kickstarter I backed. Arrived a couple of days ago. So far, very impressed. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/polymaker/polysmooth-and-polysher-3d-prints-without-layers
Looks very impressive
@Mark_Wheadon I’ve been watching this for a long time. Missed the Kickstarter. Looks like a really nice alternative to ABS and acetone smoothing.
Question: How does the filament perform at keeping tolerances and precise dimensions?
No idea yet I’m afraid. It seems to be well behaved when printing so I guess there isn’t much shrinkage whilst printing.
Any noticeable deformation when smoothing?
I wonder how sharp corners will be after smoothing.
@Shai_Schechter not tried it yet.
@Mark_Wheadon any experience with chemical resistance or long term stability of the printed parts?
@Thomas_Sanladerer That’s my first print and it’s only a day old so no, not yet.
@PrintinAddiction no noticeable deformation so far. I’ll know more about loss of detail etc when I’ve had more experience of it.
nice!
Ok, that’s pretty cool!
@Mark_Wheadon wow… it doesnt even look 3D printed after polishing…
@Cristian_Martinez that is the entire point!
I printed something in “crystal clear” filament. It looks white -- i mean i understand the whole light diffusion through the crosstitch pattern between layers but come one you should atleast add that to the description when you know theres gonna be noobs buying it --
Try lowering the print speed upping the temperature and upping the layer height and you may find it’s a lot more transparent.
Thanx man ill try that. In the mean time ill take advantage of the light diffusion and make my mom a color changing vase for mothers day
