Just something I sketched up. Need something extremely rigid. I have never checked out a makibot. I’ll check it out post finishing.
You’re going to have problems with over constraining the axis. It’s more reliable to use bigger rods than more of them.
@Stephanie_A any ideas what might be done to reduce play on the thin rods on a Makibox? Maybe bushings can be used to constrain them where X and Y connect?
@Stephanie_A thank you for the input. I have been concerned with friction. Looking at equating with the igus 5/8" shafts and suggested bushings. This mock up was to test my recently acquired solidworks skill set. Pretty happy with the resolution.
Ultimate goal is to kick it down a stairwell and still operate. Ha.
