My FrankenDoodle (Solidoodle 3).
I listed some of the upgrades in the description. Took the video of a slow collaboration print. It is dialed in now. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mNwNx-kykkc&feature=youtube_gdata_player
The heater works great. 5 minutes to get to 110. The ceramic plate works great. I use the 50/50 mix of Elmer’s glue and water. Sticks great, releases great. The power supply is this 12v 360w one. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00D7CWSCG/ref=redir_mdp_mobile?psc=1|Universal&redirect=true&ref_=oh_details_o00_s00_i00
Glass “borosciliate” is ideal. Use either the 50/50 mix like I did, or the glue stick (I’ll have to get the exact brand and name from Joseph Spanier). It is lighter weight than the ceramic. Only other discernible issue is price. A ceramic bed is less than $1.50 while the glass is $30
But good luck finding flat ones.
^^ Joe brings up a good point. I used a straight edge to check them at the store. I will switch to borosciliate soon. Just to have a perfectly flat surface
