My Globe Bouquet Vase with pillar base scaled down & 3d printed in stainless steel. Does it work as a pendant or earring? Walls 0.3mm thick! Amazing. Next step polishing…

ohhh… as a pendant! Print it in silver, send it to me and we should set some pear shape stones in there… That’s kinda cool effect. You’d have to source some cheap stones based on the size of the holes. What is that, 6 x 4mm for those openings? how many, 12? Your girl like green?

lots of options there…
Thanks @Stephen_Shimatzki
That´s a cool idea. 6 openings 2.2x5.4mm, 6 openings 2.2x4.4mm & 3 openings 2.2x3mm. The problem with silver is the wall thickness

I dunno, I think it could be done if you had a determined jeweler… They work with smaller. The wall thickness can be carved out with the setting burs so if you were thinking it was tooo thick, I don’t think that is a real problem. The jeweler would almost have to get it in hand and then cut the seats for the stones and then order the right size stones. At $119 for the polished silver, that’s not too bad on shapeways for a one off piece vs. if it was cast from a hand carved wax. You’d have to take it someplace local that does custom work. I think it would turn out spectacular if you do have a SO… (well, ok, maybe not the stones facing down, maybe those can just filled in, but the design is still interesting)
Ok, exploring this more for jewelry… Think of flipping it back over in the flower holder position. Take the bail (the loop that hangs it) and remove that section. instead have it just be a small dome since that is the bottom and not seen. Instead, put the bail where the top 3 holes are if you can, you might have to move it a bit. Now if it is set with gems they look like tears. (Especially if used with Aquamarine) If you want to save metal/costs, you could slice it so one side is flat and have that be the side that lays against the skin. That would get rid of one of the top 3 gems, but your bail might fit better. Just ideas… Design is fun, implementation is hard.
Full of ideas @Stephen_Shimatzki
great fun
