My heater wire was wearing against the wood. I took the opportunity to do some major wiring clean-up.

I got the 7x7mm cable chain off ebay after failing to a print satisfactory one myself. I had to lengthen most of the wires. It would really be nice if PrintrBot had some sort of wiring harness standard with the kit.

Printrbot supplies all needed wires, zip ties, cable wraps and cable management instructions. Give us your ideas, we want to improve any way we can!

Good call. Most of the early problems I had with my kit were due to wires working loose from repetitive motion.

I absolutely agree that everything needed was included in my kit. What I’d like to see is a wiring harness that takes all the cables up and along the Y axis, as I have done. I understand this would add cost; it’s just a wish-list item.

I’m having fun with my PrintrBot simple, even when I’m making modifications to it!

By the way: The extra fan was one of my first mods to cut down jams from PLA getting soft. I also added some LEDs under the extruder; still waiting to see how they work.
