My hobbed bolt keeps on making shavings that get stuck in it and then it slips so my traces lay down nice for 75 % of the time then they get all skinny and non functional for a bit and then back to normal. Im thinking the tension on the springs/screws on the extruder are the problem but im not sure . Any ideas?
I believe you are trying to print / extrude to fast for the filament and temperature of the hot end. So the filament is still solid making it harder to for the extruder to push filament and it starts grinding away at the filament.
I would try bumping the temperature 5 degrees or slowing your print speed 10mm/sec to start.
You might also consider lowering the voltage / adjusting the potentimeter on your extruder stepper motor so that the motor will skip steps rather than grind away the plastice, which can lead to other issues.
will try that out thanks !
Hattip. +5 worked fine and resolved my issues.
I will check my current on my drivers. I know its a little high because i had to put on heat sinks on the motors.
