My last couple prints been spotty like this one.

My last couple prints been spotty like this one. I’ve tried adjusting the infill and I don’t have clogs. Printing with Pla @ 200 and using Repetier. I’m gonna see how it finishes this time but any ideas why this is happening all of a sudden?

I had this same problem with some filament just like that. I had to whack it up to ABS temperature to get anything to print.

Filament diameter???

PLA? Moisture.

Filament is 1.75

Bed height?

@Steven_Cadd printing it again at 210 now

I’ll post a pic here in a few when it’s back 2 that layer

All of those Items are good to check, I might add check the teeth on your extruder bolt. be sure they are not full of scrap.

@Nate_Bee I had to go up to 240 - it wasn’t ABS though as it wouldn’t dissolve in acetone. I’ve no idea how to test if it’s pla or not.

That looks like filament that has taken up too much moisture. Does the nozzle make small popping noises during extrusion?

@Chris_Bigpaws_Chambe I will check that also. I have extra nozzles too so I might try a new one and reprint if this one comes out the same. Thanks

@Jos_van_der_Plas no popping noise but so far in my second attempt it sound like the nozzle is dragging across the print a little bit.

@Jos_van_der_Plas what can I do to check for moisture though?

Looking like this so far

Mine also printed the base layer perfectly every time. Have you tried another spool to see if it’s that particular filament, or is this happening on all filament?

Might be a partially clogged nozzle. Try doing a cold pull. @Thomas_Sanladerer has a good video tutorial. Google it.

@Steven_Cadd @Ernesto_Martinez the bottom one is with a different filament. Looks somewhat better. Same settings as above. Trying again though

@Nate_Bee that would point to humidity in the filament instead
