My MultiKoss delta splitter design so far,

My MultiKoss delta splitter design so far, removable cover to deal with clogs while dialing in the retraction for the filament change. It seemed like it might be nice, but I dont have any actual experience yet with dual color. What do you all think? It is a byproduct of wanting clean well built filament channel with linear tool head paths along it instead of any ribbing from cross grain construction. The part ended up 2 pieces and thinning one to see the filament through it seemed like a good idea. still refining that this is the first version of this iteration of the concept.

Printing it in Alloy 910, strong and high detail with low friction, seems really good in testing, the filament slides very smoothly.

i think you should add some metal tubing on the exit part of the splitter - that will help with the hot filament retraction. see prusa blogs about it

@Cristian_Nicola sounds like a good idea, thanks. I wonder how much I need? small cylinder with precise holl drilled in it, inserted in the hotend side just before the fitting. should be room for a cylinder around 5mm long with a filament sized hole.

are custom drill bit sizes available? and if so are they expensive? I would like a 2.2mm for this. any ideas on sourcing that? I have mill and lathe access just need the right bit.

You can buy 2.2mm reamers. From a quick search they’re readily available in 0.1mm steps

@Kirk_Yarina Thanks! Not too bad, around $30 USD for one it looks like from a quick search.

I suspect a very short section of aluminum will be enough to remove any remaining heat from a blob and force it small enough it won’t block the splitter. Hopefully just a 2-3mm disk with a hole. I want as much PTFE tubing in the splitter as possible and it’s either lengthen the splitter, which affects the bowden length, or loose a little of the PTFE insert on the hotend side, of which there is only around 8mm as it is.

@AlohaMilton . $6.75US from the Big Rock Candy Mountain if you select 2.2mm

@Kirk_Yarina thanks for the info, I will use that link or search harder.
