Really great idea! With firmware do you use and is it possible to get it somewhere?

Marlin firmware…but the control needs to be done by custom g code in slic3r. I will complete the bill of material and detailed description on http://www.3d-proto.de as soon the first printing was successfull. Just subscribe my channel and you can’t miss it.

Genius! that’s absolutely amazing. This eliminates the main problems of dual extrusion. If this becomes practical I may have to upgrade.

Thanks. I keep you guys informed when the first successful testing is finished. In case you want to upgrade your Prusa i3 or compareable printer with the parking extruder.

awesome idea…great execution too… if you make the frame of the printer wider, then having two nozzles and a carriage in between wont matter as the distance to travel will be greater… But A++++ for the test and keep on refining… got my interest.

Thanks. Currenty I am focusing on making the extruders and idler thinner ;-). This weekend I will show printing results. Stay tuned
