My opinion about the price of a replacement MakerBot 5th Gen Smart Extruder. What’s yours?

It is not too surprising. 3D printing is a ‘thing’ now and there is a gold rush on. A lot of the miners aren’t particularly nice nor do they have the interest of others in their hearts. But the interesting thing is that other folks who do put customers forward are continuing to make progress in the market. My concern was that when Stratasys acquired Makerbot they would put their resources behind keeping it open, and so that would create a defacto ‘standard’ printer and it would be impossible to get any traction on anything that wasn’t “replicator compatible.” By being closed and proprietary they have done the community a huge favor by allowing alternatives to thrive. I realize it doesn’t always look that way but it really is.
don’t really care because i already got 2 free ones.
and i’m able to fix them in 5-10 minutes.
