My photographic build log of an Openbeam Kossel Pro:
The guys on the Openbeam forums liked that too.
Use a lightweight “badge” retraction clip and not a heavyweight key spool especially if you run your Bowden through it. Too much tension can be just as bad as no lift at all.
Thanks for posting that.
I’ve been waiting for the blood to clear from the cutting edge before completing my Kossel Pro build.
Getting there.
Can I assume you will post your further experiences getting to first print?
Would be very helpful.

The documentation isn’t 100%, but this is also my third printer so I had some idea what I was doing. First Delta, though, and there are some major conceptual differences.
Right now there is lively discussion on the official forums: http://forums.openbeamusa.com/forums/openbeam-kossel-reprap-and-openbeam-kossel-pro.7/ among the 100 or so of us who have this particular printer. Initial bugs that were not caught in beta but were caught in the shipping run are being ironed out by Terence (Openbeam, design engineer) and Mike (Z Designs USA, electronics engineer for Brainwave Pro board.)
Some of us advanced users have already gone to rolling our own firmware. My first firmware had an issue with probe retraction and I fixed it but then shortly thereafter an official update fixed the same thing. We haven’t gotten up to speed tests or sub-0.1mm printing yet. We’ll get there.
Cool.
I am a backer and have my kit…but am a novice with additive so am letting guys like you do the heavy lifting.
I design for and run cnc mills and routers so know just enough about the issues to want to wait a bit. I have enough headaches right now.
I am paying close attention to the openbeam forums discussions. Enjoying the ebb and flow of problems and solutions.
Thanks again for the photos.
